Homemade Maternity Pants

Hey Blog! A thing you may not know about me is that I am a little over 4 months pregnant! And I'm really excited about it.

I'm kind of cheap, and not excited about buying maternity pants. I own one pair so far from H&M which are pretty cute and comfortable. But it seems silly to buy more than that when I'll only wear them for a few months. However, over the last couple of weeks I've had to admit that I officially can't fit into any of my other pants comfortably. So I decided it was time to add another pair to my collection.

Thanks to a tutorial from Meg over at DIY Maternity, I was able to fashion these beauties out of some very old GAP chinos.
I really wasn't sure if I'd be able to pull this off, but I totally did! And they look good. I even kept the pockets and some of the belt loops in the back. The best part is that they are loose pants, which are more comfortable than my fashionable H&M skinny maternity jeans.

I think I cut them a bit too low in front, but I might like that as I grow bigger. Right now if I wear certain shirts you can see a little of the navy blue peaking out, but with long maternity shirts it is not a problem.
